Mr. Kozak was visionary and pioneer in developing Remote Guarding for the betterment of security protection to enterprise-level facilities. Before starting Elite, Mr. Kozak founded and built Universal Alarm Systems Inc. into one of the nation’s largest and most successful Burglar Alarm and Armed Guard Response companies complete with one of the nation’s most sophisticated UL Approved Central Stations. After a successful exit to ADT, he founded IntelliSec Inc., engineering, installation, monitoring and service provider for commercial clients. Mr. Kozak founded Elite in 2007 and installed our first Elite Remote System and opened our Remote Guarding Command in a secure data center in 2008.
He began his career in the Security Industry after completing a distinguished tour of duty in the Israeli Military and migrating to the United States and is widely recognized and respected throughout the security industry as the “Father of Remote Guarding” for his dedication and innovation in the industry.
Mr. Zatulov is an accomplished operations and finance professional having over a decade of experience at the executive level of complex organizations with a focus on both technology and consumer product companies. Before joining Elite, he served as a senior executive at a regional Private Equity firm focused on lower-middle market acquisitions where he oversaw several portfolio assets such as Current Media Group, CinemaNow, and several other recognized brands. Mr. Zatulov began his career at Grant Thornton and spent time in both the Business Management and Taxation Services practices. Mr. Zatulov received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles with a concentration in Finance and Global Studies as well as an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Mr. Aragon joined Elite in 2009, bringing with him nearly 20 years of experience in advanced security surveillance systems and solutions. Throughout his career, Aragon has demonstrated oversight, planning, design, engineering, and delivery of innovative security surveillance systems. Aragon’s experience includes serving in all aspects of the Monitoring and Security Industries, ranging from Client Account Management and Sales Support, Remote Guarding and Video Surveillance Security System Engineering, Product Development and Project Management. His background allows him to easily interface with engineers, contractors, and system integrators to ensure product solutions meet customer requirements.
Mr. Blakeman has an extensive background in operations and business development. He has expertise in physical security and business continuity specializing in commercial real estate and logistics verticals. Before joining Elite in 2016, Mr. Blakeman managed security & operations for the largest man-guarding firm in the nation as well as the largest California based bank. As a member of ASIS, Infraguard, and The West Covina Police Department, he is well connected in the security industry. Mr. Blakeman oversees national and enterprise relationships with C-Suite stakeholders. He holds a BA in political science and communications from California State University.
Mr. Kozak has over a decade of expertise in building computing and networking environments, doing research and development, selecting and installing advanced analytics and surveillance systems. Jonathan has been vital to the evolution of Remote Guarding and is respected by manufacturers and major VMS providers for his expertise in surveillance and security technology. He oversees all company and client-based wired and wireless telecommunications, internet, LAN and WAN networking. Over his tenure with Elite, he has been crucial to maintaining customer success and supporting a secure 24/7 technology infrastructure.
Mr. Brown is the Managing Director of The Beekman Group (TBG). He has 20 years of experience in private equity, senior and subordinated debt investing and finance. He is a member of the Investment Committee and has responsibility for sourcing, evaluating, executing and monitoring the Beekman Group’s investments. Before joining TBG, Mr. Brown was a Principal at Patriot Capital Funding and its successor by merger, Prospect Capital Corporation where he led debt and equity investments in lower middle-market companies. Mr. Brown began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and spent time in both the Assurance and Transaction Services practices. Mr. Brown received a Bachelor of Science in Business at Lehigh University and an MBA with honors from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Mr. Rothman is a Board Member for Elite and a valued member of the security community. He has over 30 years of distinguished service for leading companies including a tenure as President at Honeywell Security Group & ADI Distribution, a global $3 Billion strategic business unit within Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions. Most recently, Ron was senior vice president of sales and business development for AFA Protective Systems, Inc., an SDM top twenty-five integrator and a leader in the design, installation, and service of fire, access, intrusion, and video security systems. Ron currently chairs the marketing committee for The Monitoring Association, (TMA, formerly the Central Station Alarm Association). He is also an inductee into the Security Sales & Integration Hall of Fame and is the recipient of the ESA’s President’s Award and the Security Industry Alarm Coalition’s William N. Moody Award.
Mr. Wiesenfeld is a Board member for Elite and has over 20 years of electronic security services experience. He has served in executive roles in leading security companies, including Sensormatic, Security Technology Group, and Guardian. Mr. Wiesenfeld was most recently Chief Financial Officer of Security Networks, Inc., an Oak Hill portfolio company, until its successful sale to Monitronics International for over $500 million at an industry-leading valuation multiple and presently serves as a Board member for NorthStar Alarm Service.
Mr. Caesar is a Board Observer for Elite and Sr. Associate at The Beekman Group and is responsible for transaction execution, financial analysis and portfolio company management. Before joining The Beekman Group, he worked at Goode Partners, a middle-market private equity firm focused on consumer and retail investments. Before Goode Partners, Mr. Caesar worked at Wells Fargo Securities in the Consumer and Retail Investment Banking Group in New York, NY. Mr. Caesar received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance.
Mr. Stone has more than four decades of law enforcement and public safety experience, including twenty-two years as Chief of Police/Public Safety Director. As past President and Executive Director Emeritus of FBI-LEEDA, Tom has championed education for law enforcement agencies, developed curriculum, and instructed law enforcement agencies nationwide in law enforcement leadership and management. Tom also serves as Board Chair for Elite’s Law Enforcement Advisory Board, where his insight and passion for Remote Guarding benefit both Elite’s clients and law enforcement partners.
Mr. Bushey is a 44-year veteran of law enforcement. He retired as a Commander from the Los Angeles Police Department, as a Deputy Chief from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, and as a Colonel from the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Additional law enforcement experience includes having served as a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff, a California State Deputy Game Warden, and as the Marshal of San Bernardino County. Keith Bushey holds an Associate in Arts Degree in Sociology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Science and Administration, and a Master of Science Degree in Public Service.
Mr. Feffer is currently a law enforcement officer commanding the Cyber Crime Investigation Section of a large law enforcement agency in Southern California. He has also been a Cyber Crime task force officer since 2004. As a sworn law enforcement officer in Southern California since 1988, and a California attorney since 1994, Justin has instructed thousands of law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and public officials throughout the United States and internationally in cybersecurity, cybercrime, and high technology threats.
Mr. Ackerman began his law enforcement career 25 years ago when he joined the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department based in Marysville, Kan. While there, Todd demonstrated strong leadership skills and moved progressively through the ranks until he was named Police Chief of the City of Marysville – a position he has held for the past 18 years. Todd’s first-hand knowledge and experience of current issues and challenges facing the law enforcement industry plays a crucial role in the board’s overall success.
Mr. Tavera is an honorable retired Chief of Police with the El Segundo Police Department. He has over 38 years of public service, starting as a police cadet in 1978 and ending in 2017 as Chief of Police – a position he held for seven years. Mr. Tavera holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University Long Beach and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Senior Management Institute of Police, West Point Leadership Institute and the Delinquency Control Institute at U.S.C. Even though retired, Mr. Tavera continues to participate in several law enforcement and community organizations.
