JOB DESCRIPTION
 
The mission of Elite’s sales & systems engineer is to support sales executives with systems related questions and information. This position will provide our sales team with estimates and help to pre-engineer complex integrated systems including:
  • Access Control
  • Video Surveillance
  • Intercom
  • Communications wireless networks
This position will also assist with project take-offs, specification interpretation, conceptual drawing creation, and the development and drive of Elite’s engineering standards.
 
Essential Duties and Functions:
 
Additional Responsibilities Include:
    • Accurately estimates labor and material job costs and provides technical support and advice to Sales and Operations teams
    • Act as external liaison working with clients maintaining high level of customer satisfaction
    • Develop and maintain engineering design and pricing resources for field sales teams
    • With sales, operations and project managers, complete site walk-throughs to determine specific client needs and ensure project requirements are met including safety standards
    • Design complex integrated systems including Access Control, Video Surveillance, Network Infrastructure, Intercom, wireless communications
    • Assist sales by providing project labor and equipment costs, counts, ensuring part number accuracy and assembling permit packages
    • Value projects by product and installation and assists in developing project scope documents (prime to subcontractors and vice versa).
    • Provide operational and troubleshooting advice as needed
    • Provide subcontractor assistance by evaluating customer site system requirements and accurate job estimates
    • Research and develop alternative, improved solutions when possible
    • Maintain all job folders
    • Facilitate project closure turnover meetings between assigned sales and operations employees
    • Stay abreast of and educate others on new product information
    • Develop and maintain resources for sales and operations team including technical library, cut sheets, manuals and vendor product information
    • Assist in establishing pricing including verification of subcontractor/vendor costs
    • Represent Elite to community, professional and governmental groups including interaction with federal, state and local officials and professional organization representatives
    • Maintains and increases technical knowledge and competence in company products, applications and services

  • 4+ years of experience
